[Episode 5] The Psychology of ”I want to be Famous”: How to Support your Clients and Yourself
This is a very personal episode, one where I open up very transparently to share about my inner push and pull around fame and wanting to be “BIG”…and how I’ve navigated it (and still navigate it) in my own life and business.
The topic of Fame is an important and tricky one. There are layers to it.
There’s lots of beauty in the pull to be known, and there can also be a lot of Shadow in it.
As a practitioner, you need to understand some of the psychology and human behavior behind fame in order to support your clients (or yourself!) to know if it’s right for them, and how to move forward with it.
Some of the topics we cover:
==The ways that fear can show up in your client sessions
==What happens when we pathologize fear
==Where fear comes from
==The benefits of helping clients distinguish between present and past resources
==The principle of risk when fear gets activated
==Discomfort versus pain and how this can help you work with fear
==Why releasing fears isn’t viable or safe, and what to do instead
