Your Rhythms Are More Important Than What the Gurus Say

It’s more than OK to not do all the “things” everyone tells you that you need to do for a successful business. (& there are so. many. things!)

But even if you know better, it’s pretty easy to get caught up in the insanity of thinking you must do everything, and you must do it now.

For example, when I first found out about Clubhouse, I was determined to be really active on it ASAP.

I was an extremely late adopter of Instagram, and so my thought was – “I am going to really leverage Clubhouse! I’m going to be an early adopter, and I am going to really harness this medium!”

Then add to that, seeing so many gurus talking about how important it is to jump on it, for a few days there, I felt such a deep urgency to do it, as if so, so much depended on it.

Well, guess what?

Life and work have been really full, and I’ve lurked in one or two Club House rooms and it seems to be very time consuming, and while I definitely want to jump in at some point because it seems really cool & valuable…

…I STILL haven’t done a single darn thing on Clubhouse except to make my bio.

Could I have “fit” it in over the last 6 weeks that I’ve been a member? Sure.

But would it have exhausted me and robbed me of much needed relaxation time? 100%

Have I missed out on possible visibility?

Maybe.

But does it mean my business is going to suffer?

Absolutely not.

It is way too easy for our nervous systems to get into a tizzy when we feel we need to rush to fit all the things in.

And, it’s actually a very patriarchal way of thinking – to believe we need to perfectly do all the things.

And when we believe we need to perfectly do all the things, it becomes damaging to us.

Watch yourself for this.

Use your inner wisdom to determine what’s right and what’s not when it comes to what actions to take in your business.

Don’t get caught up in any hype or any “must-do” rules for success, and don’t let the gurus dictate what you do and what your rhythm must be.

Honor your own rhythms and what’s aligned for you. It may not be the quickest way to “more, more, more”, but it certainly is the quickest way to deeper satisfaction.
