A Vital Marketing Tip in These Chaotic Times

There is so much happening in the world right now.

War.
Misogyny in the news.
Climate crisis.
Political polarization.
Loneliness and disconnection from overuse of technology.

It can feel like a lot.

We actually got into a deep discussion about this inside Sacred Depths – The Transformational Practitioner Certification last week, and how it relates to our client work… and our marketing.

That it’s not appropriate.

Or that it’s somehow self-focused.

Or even that there’s no point in sharing our work when the world feels like it’s on fire.

I want to fiercely and lovingly challenge this.

The truth is that the world needs our work more than ever.

Individuals need our work more than ever.

Organizations need our work more than ever.

Communities and families need our work more than ever.

In times of crisis, MORE support is needed…not less.

Just because there is a price tag on the support you provide doesn’t mean you shouldn’t share about it.

In fact, I believe the opposite.

I believe you & your work were made for these times.

And this is the moment to rise.

(Remember: sharing about your work doesn’t only benefit you; it benefits everyone you’re meant to serve…and everyone they impact, too).

But there is an important piece to this.

You need to be able to articulate — first to yourself, and then to the world — how your work is relevant right now.

How your work can make a difference in the world as it currently is.

For example:

If your work is about forgiveness, how is that relevant to political polarization… or to war?

If your work helps women navigate menopause and midlife, how does that connect to the misogyny we’re seeing in the news?

If your work helps CEOs lead their teams better, how does that relate to the massive shifts companies are navigating because of AI?

If your work focuses on nervous system regulation… how is that relevant to the collective anxiety people are feeling right now?

(Answer: probably very.)

Inside of your marketing, you want to acknowledge and honor the real difficulties your community is facing — instead of avoiding them.

And then you want to clearly, thoughtfully, and with pride, connect the dots between those challenges and the work you offer.

Because here’s something I’ve seen again and again:

If you’re an ethical, caring practitioner, it’s going to be very hard to market your work if you don’t feel deeply connected to why it matters right now.

So the work begins internally.

You get clear on the relevance of your work for yourself first.

This is something we spend a lot of time exploring inside Sacred Depths, because becoming a powerful practitioner isn’t just about the techniques you use with clients.

It’s also about being deeply rooted in why your work matters in the world.

It is so, so important to me to be making a meaningful difference in the world — and for the work I share to meet my clients exactly where they are right now.

What keeps me inspired to continue sharing my work is knowing that the world truly needs practitioners who can:

  • Hold deep and vulnerable space
  • Help clients and groups co-regulate
  • Get to the root of fears, resistances and obstacles
  • Support real transformation — not just surface-level change

This is my deep WHY.

This is what keeps me relevant.

This is what gives me the internal permission to keep sharing my work boldly… even in chaotic times.
