About what they do and so that more of our clients experience life changing shifts, let’s get started.
00:01:03 Speaker 1
Welcome back to the Coaching Revolution podcast. I’m Joanna. I’m so glad you’re here.
00:01:09 Speaker 1
And in honor of the summer solstice coming up later this week, today’s episode is all about how to use the wisdom of the summer and the summer solstice and your coaching and your groups, and also for yourself.
00:01:24 Speaker 1
If you know me or you’ve been listening to this podcast for a little while, you know that I am a long time student of the seasons and that one of my favorite things is to work with the archetypal emotional and spiritual layers of the year.
00:01:42 Speaker 1
Each season carries particular teachings and I found that when we pay attention to those teachings, we can access incredible wisdom for our own growth, our leadership.
00:01:54 Speaker 1
And our client work. I’ve actually been following the seasons in this way since 1999. This was back when I was living in New York City in my 20s and having so much fun in the city in 1999, I kind of randomly registered for a class.
00:02:14 Speaker 1
Called woman ritual and it was led by an incredible woman named Susan Mary Heller, who later became one of my beloved teachers. And that’s where I was first introduced to the magic of the wheel of the year.
00:02:29 Speaker 1
And with it I was also introduced to women’s ritual and creating rituals to integrate the wisdom of the seasons on an inner level. And I’ll just share with you quick those years with Susan, Mary doing ritual in the city.
00:02:49 Speaker 1
Were amazing. So many of our women’s circles we gathered at the.
00:02:57 Speaker 1
This place on 14th St. in the village, for those of you that know, called the Elizabeth Seton Birthing Center, we were on the top floor of the birthing center. We were doing these incredible and beautiful rituals, while right beneath us in the birthing center, babies.
00:03:17 Speaker 1
Were born. It was always so magical.
00:03:20 Speaker 1
Any day since later this week in the northern hemisphere is the summer solstice. I am really excited to devote today’s episode to some of the lessons that we can gather from the summer solstice. What it means, what it teaches, and how we can bring its lessons into our work with clients.
00:03:41 Speaker 1
As a special tree, we’ll also be looking at one of my favorite myths to honor and learn from on the summer solstice, and I’ll also be sharing with you some inner work and a powerful ritual that you can do or invite your clients to do, to harness the energy of the solstice, and also to harness.
00:04:02 Speaker 1
The energy of your inner radiance.
00:04:07 Speaker 1
But let’s start here and kind of.
00:04:10 Speaker 1
Talk about what?
00:04:11 Speaker 1
Is the summer solstice.
00:04:14 Speaker 1
The summer solstice, which is also known as mid summer, is the longest day and the shortest night of the year since the spring equinox, when there was, during the equinox, there was the exact amount of daylight.
00:04:34 Speaker 1
As there was night time Equinox is when day and night are in exact balance since the spring equinox every day.
00:04:48 Speaker 1
The day has been getting just a little bit longer and each night has been getting just a little bit shorter, working up to the summer solstice where the sun shines and it is the longest.
00:05:09 Speaker 1
Day of the year.
00:05:12 Speaker 1
It’s also the moment where the sun reaches the highest point in the sky, and the word solstice.
00:05:24 Speaker 1
Comes from 2 words soul, which means son and sees which comes from to stick or to stand still.
00:05:37 Speaker 1
And so during the time of the solstice, for three days, the sun stands still in the highest point in the sky, and she is the biggest and shines for the longest. For centuries, different cultures around the world.
00:05:57 Speaker 1
And different traditions have celebrated the solstice as a time of abundant.
00:06:03 Speaker 1
Fertility, celebration and light and symbolically.
00:06:11 Speaker 1
The summer solstice invites us to consider what it means to shine like the sun, what it means to take up space.
00:06:24 Speaker 1
To be seen and what it means to offer the fullness of our gifts to the world without shrinking back.
00:06:36 Speaker 1
To me, the solstice is a sacred moment when the outer light is at its peak, and all of that outer light reminds us that also we hold each one of us a lot of light, that we have our own inner radiance.
00:06:57 Speaker 1
Sunlight.
00:06:59 Speaker 1
With our courage, our joy, our willingness to be who we are, fully because of all of this, I love to spend time in inner exploration and do ritual this time of year that really supports me in aligning with the energy of the sun.
00:07:20 Speaker 1
And in being more seen maybe being more seen in my business or being seen for who I really am in my family or being seen in my community.
00:07:33 Speaker 1
Or allowing myself to more fully see who I am, to me authentically.
00:07:43 Speaker 1
And.
00:07:44 Speaker 1
No matter what level of development or evolution you’re at, no matter how much work you’ve done on visibility, there is always a next level of visibility to get to.
00:08:01 Speaker 1
There’s always a next level of allowing yourself to be more fully seen or to fully stand up in your voice or to be full, more fully vulnerable and honest about yourself, or to fully allow your work to shine in big ways and.
00:08:21 Speaker 1
Of course, our clients.
00:08:25 Speaker 1
No matter what you’re working on with your clients, your clients are also navigating their own relationship with visibility.
00:08:37 Speaker 1
Some might be scared to show who they really are in their.
00:08:44 Speaker 1
Family relationships and their friendships at work in their creative lives.
00:08:52 Speaker 1
Others have maybe lost touch with their inner radiance altogether.
00:08:59 Speaker 1
Maybe some clients have never even been taught that it’s OK to shine, and as coaches part of our job is to help clients reconnect with their inner light with their inner sun.
00:09:19 Speaker 1
And to support them in letting it be seen, this might mean helping a client name their truth on something. This might mean helping a client take up more space in a family system.
00:09:38 Speaker 1
This might mean helping a client pursue a dream that’s been quietly burning in the background for years. Or this might mean supporting a client to step into being more of themselves.
00:09:56 Speaker 1
Such big and important work work that impacts our clients for a lifetime.
00:10:06 Speaker 1
Now one of my favorite ways to, as you might know if you’ve been listening to the podcast, one of my favorite ways to step into any kind of inner work and inner exploration is through myth and stories. Stories have such a unique power to.
00:10:27 Speaker 1
Activate a motion to effectively bring forward threads of human behavior and the human condition for our own contemplation and stories also bring forward.
00:10:40 Speaker 1
Really important archetypal energies that help us work through our own blocks, impulses, fears, and desires. That’s why when I lead rituals and oftentimes when I lead workshops or retreats, I will share stories or myths.
00:11:00 Speaker 1
In particular, places in the curriculum, one of my favorite myths for the summer solstice comes from Japan. It’s the Shinto story of the sun goddess, Amaterasu.
00:11:19 Speaker 1
And this myth to me, is so powerful, it has impacted me so deeply that I’ve come back to work with it almost every summer solstice since 1999, when I first started doing all of this.
00:11:39 Speaker 1
And I am really excited to honor the Shinto tradition by sharing with you the myth of Amaterasu.
00:11:51 Speaker 1
Here is a story of a goddess, a Shinto sun goddess, a fire goddess, a beautiful feminine deity with rays extending from the crown of her head lighting up the world.
00:12:12 Speaker 1
Her name is Amaterasu and she is considered the source of fire. That passion, that courage, that desire inside each one of us. That big, yes.
00:12:29 Speaker 1
That keeps us going.
00:12:33 Speaker 1
Amaterasu was like the bright, radiant sun itself.
00:12:42 Speaker 1
Amaterasu was the one who showed the people their potential.
00:12:50 Speaker 1
And revealed to them their fire inside.
00:12:56 Speaker 1
Now Amaterasu had a brother named Susanu and he was the God of earthquakes. He who shakes up feelings when they become stagnant, when they need to move.
00:13:15 Speaker 1
When Susanu acted, the earth began to tremble and falter until the people listened and removed the blocks in their hearts. How did they remove their blocks?
00:13:31 Speaker 1
They removed them by grieving, by mourning, by crying, by yelling, by looking directly at their fears or their hurt, their illness, their scars, their shadows, their pain.
00:13:51 Speaker 1
One day, Susanu decided to shake things up for his sister Amaterasu.
00:14:00 Speaker 1
He entered her Kingdom and threw a great big earthquake her way. The land rumbled. Windows were broken.
00:14:12 Speaker 1
Animals were lost.
00:14:15 Speaker 1
But that didn’t shake the goddess Amaterasu, and so Susanu sent an even bigger earthquake, this one ruined many rice fields. It frightened the people. It shook the temples, and it took.
00:14:35 Speaker 1
Some lives.
00:14:37 Speaker 1
It shook Amaterasu as well.
00:14:42 Speaker 1
And so, overcome with grief and anger and shame, Amaterasu did something unimaginable.
00:14:54 Speaker 1
She withdrew.
00:14:57 Speaker 1
She fled into a cave deep within the earth, and she sealed it shut with a massive boulder.
00:15:07 Speaker 1
An Amaterasu hid inside of The Cave she didn’t want to be seen.
00:15:16 Speaker 1
It was almost as if she forgot who she was.
00:15:21 Speaker 1
It was almost as if that earthquake had her forget.
00:15:28 Speaker 1
That she was meant to be seen, that she was meant to shine.
00:15:36 Speaker 1
And.
00:15:38 Speaker 1
With Amaterasu hiding herself and her light inside of that cave, the world was thrown Into Darkness.
00:15:52 Speaker 1
Without her light, the crops began to fail.
00:15:57 Speaker 1
Flowers closed up. Rivers turned cold. The people they fell into despair.
00:16:06 Speaker 1
And the gods and the goddesses were lost.
00:16:11 Speaker 1
Without amaterasu.
00:16:14 Speaker 1
There was no sun.
00:16:17 Speaker 1
There was no warmth.
00:16:20 Speaker 1
There was no joy and the world began to wither.
00:16:27 Speaker 1
Time passed and the other deities, the gods and the Goddesses, 800 of them seeing the pain and the imbalance, they knew something had to be done. They knew the world needed.
00:16:47 Speaker 1
Amaterasu’s, radiance, energy, passion, and they knew that Amaterasu needed this for herself as well.
00:17:00 Speaker 1
And so they went to The Cave and they tried to plead and ask Amaterasu to come out, but no amount of pleading with her or logic could convince Amaterasu to return her shame and her sorrow.
00:17:20 Speaker 1
We’re just too great.
00:17:24 Speaker 1
And so the gods tried something different.
00:17:29
Right.
00:17:31 Speaker 1
They gathered outside The Cave.
00:17:34 Speaker 1
And instead of begging Amaterasu to come out.
00:17:40 Speaker 1
They celebrated.
00:17:42 Speaker 1
They sang. They danced. They drummed and laughed and made a wild, wild, joyous ruckus. One goddess named Amano. She performed a dance so outrageous and so freeing.
00:18:02 Speaker 1
And kind of risque that the other gods erupted in laughter.
00:18:10 Speaker 1
And inside The Cave.
00:18:14 Speaker 1
Amaterasu heard this laughter. She heard this ruckus.
00:18:20 Speaker 1
And she got very curious.
00:18:28 Speaker 1
How could there be joy in such darkness out there? She wondered.
00:18:35 Speaker 1
And so she crept toward the entrance of The Cave.
00:18:42 Speaker 1
And she slowly rolled that big Boulder.
00:18:49 Speaker 1
So that it was open.
00:18:52 Speaker 1
And there waiting.
00:18:56 Speaker 1
For Amaterasu was a mirror.
00:19:01 Speaker 1
The goddess Amano, the one that did that dance, had placed a mirror right there strategically.
00:19:13 Speaker 1
For Amaterasu to come upon.
00:19:18 Speaker 1
And in that opening of The Cave.
00:19:24 Speaker 1
Amaterasu saw her own reflection.
00:19:31 Speaker 1
She saw her light.
00:19:34 Speaker 1
She saw her beauty.
00:19:38 Speaker 1
She saw herself as the others saw her not broken, not damaged, but whole.
00:19:47 Speaker 1
Powerful.
00:19:49 Speaker 1
Luminous.
00:19:53 Speaker 1
This reflection was so beautiful, so radiant, so majestic, that Amaterasu stepped fully.
00:20:04 Speaker 1
Out.
00:20:06 Speaker 1
Of The Cave.
00:20:09 Speaker 1
And she finally remembered who she was.
00:20:15 Speaker 1
And how she has the power to shine.
00:20:19 Speaker 1
To bring light to the world.
00:20:25 Speaker 1
And that’s what she did. She allowed her light to shine.
00:20:34 Speaker 1
To be seen.
00:20:37 Speaker 1
And as she did, the sun rose again. The world warmed.
00:20:47 Speaker 1
Life began to bloom once more.
00:20:53 Speaker 1
And so it is sad.
00:20:57 Speaker 1
That whenever it is time to grieve.
00:21:01 Speaker 1
Go and grieve.
00:21:04 Speaker 1
And whenever it is time to mourn.
00:21:08 Speaker 1
Go and mourn. But when it’s time to reclaim your fire.
00:21:16 Speaker 1
Remember to step out of The Cave.
00:21:22 Speaker 1
And see yourself.
00:21:28 Speaker 1
I just can never get enough of that myth.
00:21:34 Speaker 1
And this incredible story isn’t just a myth about the seasons and the transition from winter to spring and summer, it also carries so much wisdom for so many of us and for our clients. Because how many times have we?
00:21:54 Speaker 1
In our own ways.
00:21:56 Speaker 1
Retreated into our own caves when life felt too harsh, when maybe we felt shamed or criticized or hurt or rejected, or just simply overwhelmed.
00:22:11 Speaker 1
How often have we closed the door on our own brilliance because it felt too vulnerable or too scary to be out there and to be seen and to shine?
00:22:29 Speaker 1
It makes me think of the times that I’ve launched programs and I haven’t immediately gotten the response I’ve wanted to in those launches, and so I’ve retreated in shame and feeling not good enough. And in those moments vowed to never send out another.
00:22:50 Speaker 1
E-mail again, it reminds me of times that I’ve compared myself to other people that I’ve seen on social media, and I’ve just felt so bad that I didn’t have as many followers or whatever it was that I just didn’t post for a while.
00:23:07 Speaker 1
Ohh and.
00:23:11 Speaker 1
It also reminds me of a pretty dramatic personal story this happened years ago. I LED a workshop online on Shadow. It was.
00:23:26 Speaker 1
A three hour workshop and I, as I always do, I just. I brought my whole self. All of who I was. I taught my heart out. I held space deeply and just with all of my heart.
00:23:44 Speaker 1
And.
00:23:47 Speaker 1
I felt good about the workshop. I felt really good about the workshop. People had breakthroughs and there was so much movement and love in the container. And when the workshop was done, I got to the.
00:24:07 Speaker 1
Towards the end of my work day.
00:24:10 Speaker 1
And I went. I had that night. I was on the board of my daughter Ella’s preschool, and we had a board meeting, and I will never forget. I drove to the board meeting at her school and before.
00:24:29 Speaker 1
I got out of the car to go into that board meeting my assistant at the time sent me. She forwarded me an e-mail from someone who had participated in the workshop and.
00:24:45 Speaker 1
The e-mail it was awful. The woman criticized me from top to bottom and was asking for her money back and her big criticism was about the way that I speak. She.
00:25:05 Speaker 1
Said that, the way that I talk was so annoying. My voice was annoying, you know, on and on.
00:25:12 Speaker 1
And and this got to the core of just one of my deepest wounds because both of my parents are foreigners, they’re from different places. And I grew up hearing lots of different accents. And because of that, I do have kind of a particular way of speaking.
00:25:34 Speaker 1
That I never loved, and so this e-mail it just crushed me. I tried to keep it together. I went into the board meeting and I actually started crying in the middle of the board meeting.
00:25:51 Speaker 1
And I laughed.
00:25:53 Speaker 1
And I went into my own cave. I went straight from all of that radiance, and that shining and that feeling so good about the workshop and this one e-mail it just. It made me hide under the covers for two days.
00:26:14 Speaker 1
I didn’t want to be seen. I didn’t want to promote anything.
00:26:22 Speaker 1
I was. I was really a mess. So anyway, how often have we retreated into our own caves?
00:26:34 Speaker 1
When things felt hard, or we felt shamed or criticized or hurt, how many times have we cut ourselves off from our own radiance and?
00:26:51 Speaker 1
From our own light and from.
00:26:53 Speaker 1
Being seen because of it.
00:26:57 Speaker 1
Amaterasu teaches us that.
00:27:01 Speaker 1
Yeah, with drying, it’s sometimes necessary.
00:27:06 Speaker 1
She teaches us that it’s OK to rest. It’s OK to grieve. It’s OK to lick our wounds, and it’s OK to protect our inner world. But she also teaches us that we don’t stay hidden forever.
00:27:25 Speaker 1
And that our light, it’s not just for us. We each have something that helps, nourishes the world, that it’s actually our sacred purpose and responsibility to shine.
00:27:46 Speaker 1
Each in our own way that it’s our sacred purpose and responsibility to radiate who we are.
00:27:56 Speaker 1
To be seen in all that we are.
00:28:00 Speaker 1
And the myth also teaches us that healing often happens not through force, but through love.
00:28:12 Speaker 1
And through joy.
00:28:15 Speaker 1
And through the sacred reflection of others.
00:28:21 Speaker 1
In this myth, it’s not a hero that’s barging in to save Amaterasu.
00:28:29 Speaker 1
It’s community, it’s laughter. It’s a mirror, right, a metaphorical mirror.
00:28:35 Speaker 1
Her that reminds her of who she really is.
00:28:41 Speaker 1
And that’s what we, as coaches and therapists and practitioners so often are to our clients. We sit outside The Cave with patients.
00:28:59 Speaker 1
We dance, so we reflect. We honor our clients and their timing. We work with their fears and their limiting beliefs. We create a safe, celebratory space for emergence.
00:29:18 Speaker 1
And when our clients are ready.
00:29:24 Speaker 1
We help them see their own light again.
00:29:30 Speaker 1
We hold up a mirror through our questions and our reflections and the space that we hold so that our clients can see their own strength and their own beauty.
00:29:48 Speaker 1
The summer solstice and learning to shine without apology like the Sun.
00:29:57 Speaker 1
Can be a beautiful metaphor to explore for yourself.
00:30:02 Speaker 1
And also to bring into your client work this time of year.
00:30:08 Speaker 1
And I want to share with you briefly an inner exploration process that you can move through and also a ritual if you want a ritual to go with it, you can use this process for yourself and please feel free to share it with your clients.
00:30:29 Speaker 1
You’ll need about 1520 minutes for it to make time just for you time where you can really connect inward and and start off with some journaling. And here are some journaling questions for you.
00:30:51 Speaker 1
Number one.
00:30:53 Speaker 1
Where have I been dimming my light and you can even do this? Follow along with me right now if you want to pause this recording to Journal, right. So first question is where have I been dimming my light?
00:31:10 Speaker 1
Second question.
00:31:12 Speaker 1
To Journal on is where in my life am I ready to shine more brightly?
00:31:24 Speaker 1
Where in my life am I ready to shine more brightly?
00:31:27 Speaker 1
And then the.
00:31:28 Speaker 1
3rd question to Journal on that might give you a different flavor on all of this is what part of you is ready to come out of hiding.
00:31:42 Speaker 1
These are all great coaching questions by the.
00:31:47 Speaker 1
And you know, answers to these questions, it might be a new program that you’re launching. It might be a particular new skill or brilliance that you’re bringing to your work.
00:31:58 Speaker 1
It might be that you want your romantic partner to acknowledge all the extra work you’ve been doing around the house. It might be that you’re a closeted dancer, you love to dance, and you’re finally ready to let your friends know about this talent, right? So make a list of all those things.
00:32:18 Speaker 1
Uh.
00:32:20 Speaker 1
Maybe you’ve been dimming parts that are ready to come out of hiding parts that are ready to shine, things that are ready to shine.
00:32:28 Speaker 1
And then.
00:32:30 Speaker 1
After you make the list.
00:32:32 Speaker 1
Pick the item that’s most important to you right now, right? So if you were to pick one.
00:32:42 Speaker 1
That’s most important to really work with.
00:32:48 Speaker 1
And then from there.
00:32:50 Speaker 1
I invite you to Journal on why is this thing so important to you?
00:32:57 Speaker 1
And why is it so important for others?
00:33:04 Speaker 1
To see.
00:33:06 Speaker 1
Why is this important for you? Why is it important for the world?
00:33:11 Speaker 1
Right. Getting clear on those wise.
00:33:16 Speaker 1
Can be really important.
00:33:22 Speaker 1
And then a couple more journaling questions. Next one you want to explore.
00:33:29 Speaker 1
What fears stand in your way of making this thing more visible?
00:33:38 Speaker 1
And it might be a fear of rejection.
00:33:45 Speaker 1
It might be a fear that it will disconnect you from your loved ones. It might be a fear of being abandoned for it. It might be a fear that others will make fun of you or get angry in some way. It might be a fear of failure around it, right? But get clear.
00:34:06 Speaker 1
On what are the fears that have been standing in the way of making this thing that you’ve chosen more visible?
00:34:18 Speaker 1
And then last journaling question.
00:34:21 Speaker 1
Based on the fears that came through and all that came through in the journaling so far, I want to invite you to write down.
00:34:31 Speaker 1
A new belief.
00:34:33 Speaker 1
What is it that you would like to start believing?
00:34:41 Speaker 1
About this thing.
00:34:43 Speaker 1
And making it visible. What’s a more helpful belief there?
00:34:51 Speaker 1
So.
00:34:53 Speaker 1
You might want to end your inner exploration on that with that journaling and that all of those new awarenesses.
00:35:02 Speaker 1
Or you might want to continue and go deeper. And if you do, I’m going to offer a ritual for you, your clients on this.
00:35:15 Speaker 1
That’s a way to take the journaling and go even further, so you’re going to go outside for this, and before you go outside and you know, it’s because it’s the summer solstice, right? We’re outside in the summer before you go outside, look around your house, your office.
00:35:35 Speaker 1
And find an object.
00:35:39 Speaker 1
That can represent for you what you want to bring to visibility. The thing that you chose.
00:35:47 Speaker 1
So.
00:35:50 Speaker 1
Whatever you want to make more visible, find an object in your house that can represent it. Maybe it’s a A.
00:35:57 Speaker 1
Pretty rock that you.
00:35:58 Speaker 1
Have a piece of jewelry that you love. A scarf.
00:36:04 Speaker 1
A photograph.
00:36:07 Speaker 1
A knickknack.
00:36:09 Speaker 1
And.
00:36:11 Speaker 1
Go outside.
00:36:13 Speaker 1
With that object and also bring a small piece of paper and a pen and matches.
00:36:23 Speaker 1
And the first part of this ritual is a release. So you’re going to use the sun to get to the next level of releasing whatever that visibility fear was that you identified in your journaling.
00:36:46 Speaker 1
Pick the fear that feels the most powerful.
00:36:51 Speaker 1
And you can write that fear.
00:36:53 Speaker 1
Down on a piece of paper.
00:36:57 Speaker 1
And.
00:37:00 Speaker 1
Take the paper and 1st. Just honor the fear for the ways that it’s protected you until now.
00:37:09 Speaker 1
And.
00:37:12 Speaker 1
After you’ve honored it, you can set it on fire. Watch it burn. Maybe even imagine the burning hot rays of the sun extending down to help you release the fear.
00:37:32 Speaker 1
To help you become better friends, really with the fear.
00:37:40 Speaker 1
The Solstice and learning to shine without apology, just like the sun, can be a beautiful metaphor to explore for yourself and also to bring into your client work this time of year. And so I’m going to share with.
00:37:55 Speaker 1
You now a couple.
00:37:56 Speaker 1
Of journaling questions that you can move through to help you with all of the themes that we’ve been looking at today.
00:38:05 Speaker 1
And if you want to go further with it, you can also work through a summer solstice ritual, and I’m going to put in the show notes, a link to a PDF where I lay out step by step how to do the ritual.
00:38:27 Speaker 1
For the inner exploration process and the journaling, you can do this for yourself. You can lead clients through this. You need about 10-15 minutes a time where you can really connect inwards and I want to invite you to journal on the following #1.
00:38:46 Speaker 1
Where have I been dimming my light?
00:38:51 Speaker 1
And if you’re working, if you’re journaling as you’re listening to the podcast episode right now, you can just press pause, do the journaling, and then keep on going. But I’m going to go right now and share the rest of the questions. So the first where have I been dimming my light?
00:39:14 Speaker 1
Second question, what parts of my life or business are ready to be fully seen and recognized?
00:39:26 Speaker 1
What parts of my life or business are ready to be fully seen and recognized?
00:39:35 Speaker 1
Another question, what part of you is ready to come out of hiding?
00:39:46 Speaker 1
Once you’ve journaled on those three questions, you may have a list of a few things that are ready to come out of hiding, ready to shine more brightly. And then what? I want you to do next is I want to invite you to pick one. Pick the one that feels the most important to you right now.
00:40:06 Speaker 1
And.
00:40:08 Speaker 1
Whichever.
00:40:10 Speaker 1
You pick.
00:40:12 Speaker 1
Journal on the following why is this thing so important to you?
00:40:19 Speaker 1
Why is it so important that it’s ready to be seen?
00:40:29 Speaker 1
Getting clear on the why can oftentimes be really powerful.
00:40:36 Speaker 1
And then from there, take a look at your fears around making this thing more visible, and you can journal on the question, what fears stand in the way of making this fully visible.
00:40:52 Speaker 1
It might be a fear of rejection or a fear of being abandoned, or a fear of failure, or a fear of offending others. Etcetera, etcetera. Get clear on the fears.
00:41:05 Speaker 1
And then finally, last journaling question. Based on all that came through so far in the journaling.
00:41:15 Speaker 1
What is a?
00:41:16 Speaker 1
More helpful belief.
00:41:19 Speaker 1
For you.
00:41:21 Speaker 1
That will allow you to make this thing more visible that will allow you to shine more.
00:41:30 Speaker 1
What’s a more helpful belief? What would?
00:41:32 Speaker 1
You like to believe around it.
00:41:37 Speaker 1
So.
00:41:38 Speaker 1
You might want to just end at those journaling questions with all the awareness that comes through with that, or you might want to then take what came through the journal questions deeper with a ritual. I love ritual. It’s kind of the original somatic.
00:42:00 Speaker 1
Work.
00:42:01 Speaker 1
And it’s just great opportunity to activate intentions and desires and all of that. And so if you want to go deeper on this with a ritual or bring a summer solstice ritual around visibility to your clients, you can find the.
00:42:21 Speaker 1
Link to the PDF on that in the show notes.
00:42:28 Speaker 1
OK, so as the summer solstice approaches, I really hope that you will be walking with the questions of what does shining mean to you right now?
00:42:47 Speaker 1
And also how can you help your?
00:42:49 Speaker 1
Clients to shine.
00:42:51 Speaker 1
In in ways that are attuned and honoring and really real for them. And as we walk through this summer solstice time, I hope that the season brings you courage, my friend, and clarity.
00:43:12 Speaker 1
And the warmth of your own inner son. Thank you so much for listening. I hope that you received exactly what you needed to from this episode, and I’ll see you next time.
